Concealed Carry Training Course
In July 2014, Illinois became the last state in the nation to approve a law allowing the
public possession of a concealed firearm.
Anyone who wants to carry a weapon first must complete 16 hours of training from a state-approved instructor,
who must use curriculum approved by the State of Illinois.

BASIC INFORMATION - 16 HOUR CLASS $200
- Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am - 4:30pm.
- Cash or check are the only forms of payment accepted. Payment is due at the beginning of class on Saturday.
- Two primary locations for the classes are Lanark and Shannon, IL. Students will be notified of the exact course location within one week prior to the course dates. Additional locations will be scheduled on an as needed basis.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years of age and a resident of Illinois. (If not an Illinois resident, you will be contacted with details).
- Must have a valid Firearms Owners Identification (FOID) Card and bring it to class.
- Must have eye and ear protection for the 4 hours on the firing range (If not prescription glasses, you must have safety glasses). Ear protection needs to be over the top of head muffs; no ear plugs.
- Must have a handgun and holster. The holster must be worn on the student's strong side.
- Must have 100 rounds of handgun ammunition for the weapon to be used (can be reloaded or remanufactured).
- There is an additional charge to use instructor's weapon and ammunition.
- Must have at least 1 magazine for the weapon used, if using a semi-automatic pistol.
12 HOUR CLASS - Need to attend 2nd half of the first day and ALL of the 2nd day $150
- Must have either Illinois Hunter Safety Course OR Chicago Firearms Safety Course OR Concealed Carry Training Course from the following states: Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada or Utah.
- Certificate for Proof for the above is mandatory.
8 HOUR CLASS - 2nd day only $100
- Prior military service, including active, retired, or honorably discharged members of the United States Armed Forces (need copy of DD-214).
- Previously qualified law enforcement or corrections officer (430 ILCS 66/75(j)).
- Completion of Basic Security Firearms Course (20 hour class) in the State of Illinois.
- NRA Basic Pistol Course.
- NRA Personal Protection In the Home.
- NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home.
- Certificate of Proof for the above is mandatory.
ALL STUDENTS
- 10 rounds fired at 7 yards from the target.
- 10 rounds fired at 10 yards from the target.
- Must dress appropriately for the weather. The shooting takes place, rain or shine, on Sunday afternoon.
- All note-taking materials are supplied.
- There is no written test.
- The qualification course required to pass is a total of 30 rounds.
- 10 rounds fired at 7 yards from the target.
- 10 rounds fired at 10 yards from the target.
- A passing score of 21 hits or more out of 30 rounds hitting the body of a B-27 silhouette target.
- Registration forms must be completed at the beginning of the 1st class.
- Must bring all valid prior training certificates or proof to training.
- It is recommended that students bring a lunch. Lunch is 30 minutes, and there are no food venues in close proximity.
